ArivuAI ("we", "us", "our") provides an AI-assisted practice and assessment app for Tamil Nadu State Board students in Classes 10 and 12. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the ArivuAI mobile app and the arivuai.app website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using ArivuAI, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should review this policy with you before you use the app.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide directly

• Name, email address, and date of birth
• Gender (optional)
• School board, class, and medium of instruction
• Messages you send us through the Contact page or in-app support

Information collected automatically

• Test and practice activity — subjects attempted, scores, time spent, questions answered
• Device and app information — device type, operating system, app version, crash logs
• Basic usage analytics — screens visited, features used, session length

We do not knowingly collect precise location data, contacts, camera, or microphone access. ArivuAI does not require any of these permissions to function.

3. How we use information

• To create and maintain your account
• To generate practice tests and track progress by subject and unit
• To process your ₹50/year subscription through Google Play or the Apple App Store
• To respond to support requests sent via the Contact page
• To maintain app security, prevent abuse, and fix bugs
• To understand overall usage patterns and improve the app

We do not use student data to build advertising profiles, and we do not run third-party ad networks inside the app.

4. Children and student data

ArivuAI is designed for school students, many of whom are minors. We collect only the information described in Section 2, and only what is necessary to provide the app's core features — practice tests, scoring, and progress tracking.

We do not knowingly sell or share student data with data brokers or advertisers, and we do not use student data for behavioural advertising.

5. Sharing of information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers — hosting, cloud storage, analytics, and customer support tools that process data on our behalf, under confidentiality obligations
• Payment processors — Google Play Billing and Apple In-App Purchase handle payment details directly; ArivuAI does not receive or store your card or UPI details
• Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of ArivuAI, our users, or the public
• Business transfers — if ArivuAI is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy

6. Payments and subscriptions

ArivuAI's ₹50/year subscription is processed through Google Play Billing (Android) or Apple In-App Purchase (iOS). We do not directly collect or store payment card numbers, UPI IDs, or bank details — these are handled entirely by Google or Apple under their own privacy and security policies.

You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime from your Google Play or App Store account settings.

7. Data storage and security

Information is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit. We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or security purposes.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you (or a parent/guardian on behalf of a minor) may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent for optional data processing, where applicable
• Raise a grievance about how your information is handled

10. Cookies (website only)

The arivuai.app website may use minimal, essential cookies or local storage to remember basic preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies on our website.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the app or by email.
